You can’t always see it, but you can always smell it.

If you smell it, you are breathing in fine

particulates and severe toxicants

Forced from their home by wood smoke! Shame on this community!!!!

Winnipeg

Manitoba

An email from a reader of the site tells me that he is being invaded

by wood smoke and can find no help to stop it!

Brantford

Ontario

No help here for those affected by a neighbour's smoke!

Simcoe

Ontario

Another area where the local municipality turns a deaf ear to complaints

regarding wood smoke invading surrounding homes.

Grand Bend

Ontario

A tourist area where folks come in and burn to their heart's content,

heedless of the noxious smoke effect on their neighbours.

North Dumfries

Ontario

Yet another area where smoke is an issue. Bylaws need to be put into

place there as now one burner is burning just to get even with another

burner who is smoking him out!

Kamloops

British Columbia

When contacted, officials from Interior Health, advised that there is indeed a serious health risk

associated with residential wood burning appliances but that unlike other jurisdictions, Kamloops

has chosen not to impose any controls. The City’s own web site says that "(wood burning appliances )

can have significant safety, health and environmental impacts" but, when contacted about the problem,

the best advice from City officials was to consider taking "civil action for nuisance".
